  • Players have lots of involvement with lots more touches than in other forms of football like 7 v 7, 9 v 9.
  • Players practice decision making repeatedly.
  • Because there are no set positions, players will practice their skills in attacking and defensive game situations in multiple directions.
  • Because there are two goals to attack and two goals to defend, players practice their skills on all areas of the field. Players are also encouraged to use both feet for passing and shooting.
  • Due to the high level of active participation, players will quicker improve their skills and positional play.
  • There is no focus on winning, players are encouraged to take risks and making mistakes is ok.
  • Playing numerous games reduces the focus on the game scores which generates a fun festival atmosphere.
  • Young players get to practice Fair Play and make decisions without a referee.

Basic RuleS

  • Games will be played either 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 with 4 Mini Goals (1.8m x 1.2m ) or 4v4 and 5v5 with 2 youth goals (5m x2m).
  • There are no hard rules on players age. Players are selected based on size, ability and experience.
  • Field sizes: U6-U9 -> 18 - 20m x 25m; U10-U11 -> 20m x 35m.
  • There is no goalkeeper on the mini goal fields.
  • Playing time: U6-U9 -> 7 min U10-U11 -> 9 min; 5 min breaks between games.
  • On the mini goal fields, there is a 6m scoring zone within which players can score a goal or defend when the ball is inside (from U9 up).
  • Out of bounds: players can dribble or pass from the sideline.
  • Corner kick is taken from the point where the sideline meets the 6yards line.
  • Kick off - opposition team players to stand behind the centre line.
  • Penalty Kick - 1v1 on mini goals, 9m shot on youth goals.
  • Fair Play - There is no referee, players are encouraged to make decisions such as out of bounds, free kick etc.
  • Coaches are encouraged only to intervene when necessary.
  • Coaches are encouraged NOT to influence players´ play but give lots of praise and encouragement.
